It is important that the program for children should be age-specific, amusing, effective and efficient. Here the saying „It cannot be started soon enough" is especially true. Experience shows that this topic can be and should be dealt with as early as in the kindergarten. Success is ensured by institutionalizing the programs created, and by providing continuity and maintainability.

Interpretation of the difference between Program and Project:
The Smoking Prevention Program in Kindergartens means the sum of all activities that are carried out by the kindergarten teacher in the kindergarten with the participation of the children, in respect of smoking prevention. The Smoking Prevention Project in Kindergartens is the process (development of the Program, production of tools, organization of kindergartens, transport of tools, processing of questionnaires, application forms, etc.) in which the co-operation of the participants (OEFI, the regional Institutes of ÁNTSZ, Teachers’ Training Institutes, local governments, kindergartens) makes the implementation and monitoring of the Program possible.
